Chun Li is probably the most popular arcade and action video game characters not only in the Street Fighter series but to the whole gaming of all time. Since the debut and success of Street Fighter back in 1987 on the arcade and other platforms, Capcom added various and more playable characters in the following series. One of these additions is the character of Chun Li, who first appeared in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. Since then Chun Li became part of almost all the entire game series. Her story revolves around the main plot of Street Fighter wherein she joined the Street fighting tournament as an undercover Interpol agent along with a personal mission to avenge the death of her father.
Often called to be the “First Lady of Fighting Games” among game enthusiasts, Chun Li is a very influential game character and her popularity spawned many products and other forms of media and entertainment like comics, manga, novels, animation, fan and gamer products, various merchandise, and even a dedicated movie entitled Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li which was released in 2009 telling of her story and origin. Her most notable and most famous moves are the Hyakuretsu Kyaku or Lightning Legs and the Spinning Bird Kick.
