Impressive Vexel Artworks
Check out these vexel illustrations using a unique technique to immitate vector artworks.
Vexel is a technique that uses raster art or pixel-based form graphics that immitates the visual appearance of vector graphics technique. Vexel is derived from the combination of the words “vector” and “pixel”. Though Vector graphics and vector ones appear the same, there are differences of these two techniques. Both are created using Adobe Photoshop or a similar application with the pen tool although the vector is made using the shape layer function of the pen tool whereas the vexel is based on raster layers.
When in normal magnification or zoomed out, both vector and vexel appear exactly the same. However when zoomed in, naturally vector graphics still have the smooth lines and shapes in contrast to vexel – which would appear pixelated like a regular raster art. Though most graphic and visual artists prefer using vector graphics, some prefer and are more comfortable using vexel art technique. Vector artworks are usually created in very high resolutions to compensate for the loss of image scalability in print media.
Below are some awesome graphic illustrations and artworks using Vexel art. What do you think?
